Who We Are
The Innovia Foundation is the community foundation for Eastern Washington and North Idaho, serving 20 counties across the region since 1974. A Picture's Worth (APW) is a Cincinnati-based nonprofit dedicated to ethical, trauma-informed storygathering. We are partnering on the Innovia Story Table Project to gather voices from across the region at America's 250th anniversary.
What You're Agreeing To
By submitting your story, you are granting Innovia Foundation and A Picture's Worth permission to use your audio recording, photograph, and identifying information (name, county) in connection with the Innovia Story Table Project.
Your story may be used in: Innovia's website and social media, county-level and region-wide communications, single-story audiograms shared through Innovia's channels and partner outlets, anniversary programming for America 250, community events and presentations, printed and digital materials, grant and donor reports, and the region-wide archive of stories gathered through this project.
About Editing
We may lightly edit your audio for clarity — trimming pauses, removing background noise, or selecting a shorter excerpt for an audiogram. We will never alter the substance or meaning of what you said. If a piece feels like a significant re-framing, we will reach out to you before publishing.
What We Will Never Do
We will never sell your story or personal information to third parties. We will never use your story to train AI models. We will never use your story in a context that misrepresents your intent. We will never share your full contact information (email, phone) publicly.
Your Rights
You retain ownership of your story. You may request removal from any or all uses at any time by contacting elissa@apicturesworth.org. Removal requests are honored within 30 days, except where materials have already been printed or distributed.
How We Store Your Data
Your audio recording, photo, and contact information are encrypted in transit and at rest. Only authorized APW and Innovia project staff have access to your submission. We follow best practices for data protection.
Trauma-Informed Approach
APW practices trauma-informed storygathering. You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with. You may stop your recording at any time.
